Women of TIOH, an auxiliary group of Temple Israel of Hollywood, exists to promote connections and Jewish values among our membership, and in turn the Temple, our community and the world at large.
Women of TIOH
We strive to strengthen the bonds between us through social activities, spiritual practices and service to the TIOH community and beyond. Women of TIOH provides you with the opportunity to put your talents, time and gifts to work for many causes, both large and small. It will enable you to enrich your life as well as that of our congregation and community.
Our objectives:
- Bring the community of Women of TIOH into closer association and cooperation with one another through programming and activities.
- Support and further the goals of the TIOH congregation and schools.
- Serve and promote Jewish and humanitarian causes of the Reform Jewish Movement.
- Advance the agenda of the Women of Reform Judaism.
Our affiliation: Women of Reform Judaism
As members of Women of TIOH, we take part in the worldwide organization known as Women of Reform Judaism. WRJ strengthens the voices of women worldwide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values.
Through our resources, personal and financial, we support, sponsor, donate, host, organize, participate &/or lead at TIOH in these important ways:
• Hosting Hanukkah Marketplace
• Welcoming new NS parents
• Presenting Women’s Seder
• Coordinating The Lunch Project
• Hosting TIOH Party Book parties
• Running Purim Bake Sale
• Serving as Apples and Honey greeters for Rosh Hashanah
• Funding college student gift packages
• Providing Hanukkah candles to every student in the NS, DS and RS
• Gifting Kiddush Cups to B’Nei Mitzvah Students
• Sending good and welfare/lifecycle notes
• Acting as TIOH Gala Sponsors
• Raising tens of thousands of dollars for the Schools of TIOH

Chair Yoga with Zoë Hagler Marcus & the Women of TIOH

Are you suffering from Zoom fatigue? Do you spend too much time slouching or slumping at your computer screen? If so, the Women of TIOH invite you to take a mid-day break with an exercise class designed to align your spine and lift your spirit. TIOH member Zoë Hagler Marcus will lead us in gentle classes focusing on exercises that strengthen the core which will alleviate tension elsewhere in the body, as well as introducing stretching techniques to improve flexibility and overall relaxation in a safe and supportive environment. (Chair without wheels is a must!)
This class takes place on a weekly, recurring basis, and is offered for FREE to the community. Drop in whenever you can, we’ll be HERe!
Zoë is a master Pilates teacher and owner/director of Zoë – A Pilates Studio in Pasadena. Additionally, she has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for more than 20 years.
